I think this guy may be exaggerating, but if brampton's population does 'double' in the next 20 years, they better not expect to handle inflow to be handled adequately with high rises.
For one thing, there is a bit of a culture clash. If you look at Flemington park (of the DVP in Toronto) there is one of the largest collections of ethnicities in North America.
Now before someone starts yelling racism (I myself am of Indian descent) that by itself is not the problem. The problem is how quickly gangs came to take over the area. Now the same area is known as the largest concentration of gangs on the continent.
So is it a particular ethnicity? NO.
Is is connected to having too many high rises and multiple ethnicities? Yes.
There are no corner stores - it is bascially set up like an island. It was a fast, rash solution to "put people' and the kids simply had nothing to do.
Let's now let this happen in brampton.
