We're probablygoing to have toronto's grid lock in spots due to condo overdevelopment. This latest revision of well needed safe guards is an exampple:
Conestoga Drive and Sandalwood Parkway which is supposed to have a maximum of 419 units due to current zoning... and Lakepath Holdings Inc. and Royalcliff Developments Inc. want to put in TWICE that amount.
At least councillor Paul Palleschi is trying to stop this nonsense.
We need more councillors with guts. People with a vision for the city as a whole, not just real estate agents and builders.
Condos and large apartment buildings mean on average about 1.5 cars per unit. So if an area alreay has a high concentration of population - it's damn crazy to think of putting in more. City planners need to stop bending over for builders and make them build into our city responsibly.
